Los Angeles is a really big city that almost always has very crowded streets. If your plan is to drive somewhere, then you should probably just stay at home or find a way to transport yourself from place to place. Driving around in a city of that size is never going to be an easy thing to do. Yet, if you are going to drive somewhere very important, it might be worth it. If you must go and save a romantic relationship, or apply for a job, driving might be the way to go.
There are some times, however, when it might be better to send someone else in your place. This is a city that is unlike many others around the world, so pay close attention to it. Even if you have lived there for many years, there are still going to be new things that you can learn about every day that you are living there. It is not a place where people are going to give up their cars like in New York, so perhaps giving up your car is a great idea for you; not having a car could give you a little bit of legroom in the city. It is not like it is very easy to drive there anyway, so there is really no need for a car–other than the fact that nothing in Los Angeles is very close together.
This just means that you are either going to need to get a great bike, or just figure out and memorize all of the different times for the buses in the city. LA is a great city with a lot to offer. There are plenty of sites to see, and plenty of new people getting off the bus everyday. Like New York, Los Angeles is a city that never sleeps, and this means that there is always going to be something for you to do, you are just going to have a pretty hard time getting there. Do not forget about the bus systems, or think about getting a bike. These might seem like things that are not for adults, but that is an old stereotype that needs to go away.
