How to Make Your Own Wedding Favors

Categories: by Invitation

Planning a wedding can be very expensive and most couples will be looking to make savings where they can without sacrificing their ideals for the dream wedding. An easy way to save some cash is to make your own wedding party favors which is very easy to do and is also a lot more personal than buying favors from a wedding shop.

Lots of people don’t even consider making their own decorations or favors either because they don’t know where to start or because they feel they are not ‘crafty’ or ‘artistic’ enough to create professional looking favors. In fact creating your own wedding favors is really easy – you don’t need to be an amazing artist or crafts person to make them look great and you can really add your own creative ideas for that personal touch.

You’ll need to start by looking for the supplies with which to make your favors. You can buy these easily in wedding party supplies stores or if you think a bit out of the box there are also lots of supplies available more cheaply from general craft stores and many other places. Good things to look for are ribbons, organza bags, small charms and fake flowers although you are only limited by your imagination! If you’re really stuck for ideas then some stores sell DIY favor kits with instructions and everything you need to make your own favors.

One of the simplest ideas to do is to fill a small organza bag with chocolates, small soaps or other items and tie the top with a ribbon, maybe adding a charm or two. These are really easy and cheap to make for even the most basic crafters and you can add a tag with your guests name so they double as table place cards. There are lots of ideas out there so have a look through some wedding magazines for inspiration.
