Once you have filtered through the many wedding venues, I’m sure you’ve been to visit over the course of your wedding planning, and found the perfect setting to meet your size and atmosphere requirements, there are a host of other details to check and sort out. Here is a checklist to help you finalise your decision and avoid any nasty surprises on your wedding day.
Costs
- Is there a minimum spending requirement or a minimum number of guests?
- Is GST included in the total price?
- What are the corkage costs?
- Are there reduced rates for a weekday or Sunday wedding?
- Is set-up and clearing included in the cost?
- What time do you have to be in and out by?
Catering
- If you require an outside wedding caterer, what facilities are available?
- If catering is included, does the menu meet your expectations? Do you have the choice of a buffet or a set menu?
- Can your favourite dish be included?
- Do they cater for special dietary requirements, for example, vegetarian?
- Is there a special rate for children?
- Can they supply the wedding cake?
- Do they provide a wedding cake stand and special knife to cut the cake?
- Can they provide menus, or will you have them printed?
- Does the wedding table have silver service?
- Are you happy with the china, cutlery and glassware?
- Do they have vases and candles you can use?
- Is there a charge for linen tablecloths and napkins?
- Who will organize the pace-names?
- Who will draw up the display of your seating plan for guests to refer to?
Other details
- Can they provide a microphone if required?
- Is there sufficient parking?
- Can they supply a map?
- Is accommodation available for out-of-town guests?
- Do they have a list of contacts for florists, invitations, entertainment, transport, marriage celebrants and wedding photographers?
