Wedding Accessories

Categories: Wedding Accessories

Well, I don’t know where to start writing about your wedding accessories. There are literally hundreds to think of. Lets try and go through the most important ones, the ones that just can’t “leave” on the side – I would get veeery upset; brides and grooms need to be disciplined! – Right. Jokes aside, lets have a look.

When it comes to wedding accessories we have a lot to look for and to choose from. Tiaras, jewelry, wedding hair accessories, handbags, flowers, hairpins, rings, bands, bouquets, garters, guest books, wedding gifts… the list is just endless.

Gloves

You can find many different types of gloves to go with your dress. Sometimes the gloves are part of the wedding dress outfit. If not (or if you absolutely love the dress but are not happy with the gloves), you can choose from gloves that go above the elbow, below the elbow, that are fingerless or opera length, sheer and laced gloves, wrist length and full fingered, pearl or sequence accented, see-through and opaque. Then we have the different types of materials: satin, leather, velvet, metallic and cotton.

These are the most popular ones. If your wedding falls within the “very unique” or extreme, I’m sure you can find the type of glove that would fit your theme without a problem.

Veils

The most popular lengths are: shoulder, fingertip, elbow, waltz, cathedral, birdcages and fascinators. In terms of ornaments you can choose from embroidered, beaded or plain. You can find all these versions and more in both modern and traditional styles.

Headpieces

Ranging from tiaras, headbands, combs, bun-wraps, cage veils and feathers, pins and accents. The headpieces are very important, just because it looks like a “minor detail” in comparison to the dress, it is still one of the most important wedding accessories for the bride.

Bouquets

The one wedding accessory you cannot dismiss. They range from flower bouquets to hearts, buckles, crystal and initials. The color of the bouquet is really down to your favorite choice. Sometimes white is not the best option is you want your fantastic bouquet to stand out from the rest of your accessories.

Jewelry

This is such a vast subject on its own! Anything from toe rings all the way to earrings and bracelets. You really need to do thorough research weather on the internet or on bridal magazines, and, of course, specialized jewelry shops. Pearl jewelry sets can look amazing with your wedding dress. Looking for the perfect jewelry that matches your gown will most definitely take you some time, and sometimes it is not about wearing just about every piece of jewelry that you like. Be simple: choose the 1 or 2 pieces that really stand out and you will look absolutely astonishing.

Shoes

Brides like priding themselves with designer shoes. These can be quite expensive (a lot more than the dress itself); so you really want to be careful. White is the most popular color to go for (surprise surprise), but sometimes choosing a completely different color will give a lovely accented touch to your wedding outfit – if you go for a different color (red combines really well with white), then make sure you match it with a different wedding bridal accessory, for example your tiara or bouquet.

The listed above are the most important accessories any bride should be looking for, and if you’re wearing a maternity wedding dress, don’t forget about comfort when it comes to your accessories. Overall, it is always important to keep in mind that if you are planning on buying cheap wedding accessories or a vast amount of different items, you are then better off purchasing wholesale wedding accessories rather than more expensive ones in specialized shops and stores. Check online also for a mother of the bride outfits guide and best places and offers for EVERYTHING that you need.

Here is a list to help you start thinking about different wedding accessories you will need :

Lingerie, make-up, cufflinks, tiepins, feather headdresses, stationary, wedding albums, corsages, buttonholes, candles, favors, wedding cake accessories, flowers for your centerpieces (or the elements you have chosen), crackers, coasters, confetti, garters, gifts, ribbons, serviettes, table plans, place names and, of course, any type of wedding dress accessories.

What are you waiting for? Get cracking, there is a lot of work to do!
